  • Structural Engineers Association of Utah (SEAU) — Awarded grant funding for an update to the 25-year-old Snow Load Study, utilizing new data and new nationally recognized statistical modeling techniques. This project is a grant pledge based on Member Organization fundraising.

2015 Grant Recipients

  • Structural Engineers Association of Kansas & Missouri (SEAKM) - Awarded grant funding to sponsor student chapters at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, University of Kansas, and Kansas State University.
  • Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington (SEAMW) - Awarded grant funding to help the Young Member Group develop outreach programs to students in DC, Virginia, and Maryland area schools.
  • Structural Engineers Association of Arizona (SEAoA) - Awarded grant funding to help the Young Member Group provide SE Review sessions, activities with Habitat for Humanity and Future Cities, technical tours, and networking opportunities.
  • Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) - Awarded grant funding to improve the SEAOI Women's Networking Initiative to include two new events that will help women structural engineers in the Chicago area network and grow in their careers.
  • Oklahoma Structural Engineers Association (OSEA) - Awarded grant funding to support the pilot program of Engineering for the Arts in Tulsa.

2021 Grant Recipients

  • SEANM (New Mexico) was awarded funding to start a new Young Member Group for college students, recent graduates, and young engineers to connect, network, and learn.
  • SEAONC (Northern California) was awarded funding for an outreach program to build STEM awareness and to support a local Structural Engineering Engagement and Equity (SE3) Symposium.
  • SEA of SC (South Carolina) was awarded funding to launch a chapter of the Engineers Alliance for the Arts high school student bridge design project.
  • SEAOSC (Southern California) was awarded funding to implement a public speaking workshop for their Young Member Group to kick off a year-long learning program and a Diversity Equity Inclusion roundtable event to increase participation and engagement.

2020 Grant Recipients

  • SEAC (Colorado) was awarded funding to launch a local SE3 Committee.
  • SEAOI (Illinois) was awarded funding to create a cohesive library of STEM videos and funding to enhance the association's Remote Site Visits.
  • SEAU (Utah) was awarded funding for a Wasatch Front Seismic Study to understand the cost implications of designing buildings for a Collapse Prevention risk target for the 84th percentile Wasatch fault response accelerations rather than the current Ss and S1 code values.
  • SEAONC (Northern California) was awarded funding for SE3 DEI Firm Leader Cohorts to provide a forum in which firm leaders can discuss their commitments and the challenges in implementing strategies for racial DEI in their firms and the industry.
  • SEAoO (Ohio) was awarded funding further support their students by establishing a new $1,000 award.
  • SEAKM (Kansas/Missouri) was awarded funding to enhance their Mola Model Initiative and Student Outreach.
